Phage-Based Chemical Sensor Networks

Phage-Based Chemical Sensor Networks

Applicant:

BioInspira, Inc.

Country:

United States of America

Technology Overview:

◎◎ BioInspira sensors are highly sensitive receptor sensors manufactured with phage engineering technology. Derived from drug research and tumor cell targeted therapy, the sensor application has expanded to pollutant detection in the air. ◎◎ Engineered phage express special proteins, which adsorb different VOCs after certain processing, and show different colors depending on the types and concentrations of the gases. ◎◎ This technology uses coloring characteristic of the protein on VOCs gases to fabricate miniaturized sensor array. ◎◎ Sensitivity, selectivity and power performance are all superior to that of the existing semiconductor sensors. ◎◎ The influence of temperature and humidity is limited. ◎◎ Detectable substances are methane, ethane, hexane, ethanol, methanol, formaldehyde, benzene, toluene and xylene.

Financial Features:

◎◎ The cost will be lower after mass production.
