On September 18, the launch ceremony of the Climate Technology Innovation Application Clinic recruitment, jointly initiated by the Bluetech Clean Air Alliance (BCAA), HSBC China, the Beijing Entrepreneurs Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation), the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS), and Carbon Trust Technology, was grandly held at the 2026 Conference on Financing Green Technology.

In his speech, Chenguang ZHAO from the Sustainability Department of HSBC China said that HSBC had worked with BCAA and IFS over the past two years to successfully organize the Energy Storage Technology Application Clinic, selecting dozens of high-quality energy storage technology innovation enterprises for incubation, precisely connecting them with more than 100 upstream and downstream industrial chain resources and investment institutions, and completing dozens of targeted financing matchmaking, technical exchange, and industrial matching activities. At the same time, the project led the development and launch of a carbon footprint accounting guide and supporting tools for energy storage products, effectively helping participating enterprises improve their carbon management systems and enhance value-chain carbon reduction capabilities, effectively addressing the core challenges of commercializing and upgrading energy storage technologies to low-carbon operations, and promoting small-scale demonstration applications of multiple innovative energy storage technologies. These efforts have accumulated mature incubation experience and a well-developed service system for the newly upgraded Climate Technology Innovation Application Clinic.

Tonny XIE, Director of BCAA, said that at present many excellent climate technology projects, after completing technology R&D, face practical obstacles such as difficulty in financing matchmaking, lack of industrial chain resources, asymmetric policy information, and missing international channels, making it difficult for technologies to achieve scale-up deployment. The newly launched Climate Technology Clinic is positioned as a public-interest empowerment platform, targeting leading domestic climate technology enterprises and providing one-stop professional services including financing matchmaking, industrial chain matching, IP strategy empowerment, and international resource linkage. The project will connect policy, capital, industry, market application scenarios, and international resources to build an ecosystem for the scaled development of low-carbon technologies.

SEE Foundation is pleased to participate in and support the launch of the “Climate Technology Clinic and Financial Empowerment Public-Interest Project” to support and empower high-quality green technology enterprises in connecting with industrial and financial resources, accelerate the application of innovative climate technologies, and help them expand overseas more efficiently.

Highlights of the Climate Technology Clinic: Serving as a “Seedling Platform” for Technology Innovation Enterprises.
If the Bluetech Carbon Neutrality Pioneers Award is responsible for screening high-quality innovative projects, the core mission of the Climate Technology Clinic is to cultivate “good seedlings” into mature businesses. It is not limited to training courses but focuses more on practical resource matchmaking: helping enterprises connect with investment institutions to solve funding problems, linking upstream and downstream industries to open up application scenarios, and providing supporting intellectual property strategy empowerment and international communication support, with a focus on resolving key bottlenecks in the journey from technology prototype to commercial deployment. The project looks forward to identifying a group of hardcore climate technology enterprises from the award and the industry, accompanying them through industrialization challenges, and promoting the market deployment of more Chinese low-carbon technologies.

The 2026 Conference on Financing Green Technology is a parallel event of the Beijing Green Development Forum 2026. It is organized by IFS and BCAA, and co-organized by HUA XIA BANK CO., LTD. The event attracted more than 200 entrepreneurs, investors, experts, and other participants from the green technology sector on site, while more than 86,000 people participated online.
